IOSSC is rapidly changing

A name change to IOS Sailing Club marked the rebirth of the island's oldest sailing club in 2002.

This friendly, family-orientated dinghy sailing club, situated at the centre of the Thames Estuary on the north Kent coast looks set for the top.

With the completion of the Second Swale Road Crossing in 2006 and exciting proposals to overcome historic limitations, IOS is on course to become one of the premier places to sail. And not for the first time!

Sheppey was the place to sail in the '60s & '70s. CYC's International Cat Week attracted over 200 of the world's top sailors, proving that the sailing waters are world class and that 9 out of 10 cats
preferred Sheppey!

Perhaps it's also the reason why the International Yacht Racing Union chose the island to trial the 'A' and 'B' cat class designs.

As a not-for-profit organisation with no employees, we are entirely supported by members' subscriptions and their voluntary assistance.

All are welcome whether their interest lies in racing or cruising.

With superb facilities, exceptional sailing waters and fast easy road access from London and the Kent countryside (directions), we're the sailing club for you!
